You might have recalled our post last week when Capcom gave a few more details about their upcoming Resident Evil CG film. The film is known as Resident Evil: Vendetta and it has been revealed that the main protagonist within the movie is Leon S. Kennedy. However, there has been statements last week that revealed some other familiar faces that will show up alongside Leon. Now you can take a look at the first trailer for the upcoming film up above.
Overall, the story of Resident Evil: Vendetta has been pretty secretive with Capcom not revealing too much at the moment. However, there have been statements that the film is inspired by the first video game within the Resident Evil franchise.
As mentioned, Leon S. Kennedy will have some other familiar faces to help him along his journey in the upcoming CG film. During Tokyo Game Show this year, Capcom revealed that both Chris Redfield and Rebecca Chambers, two protagonists featured within the franchise, will be in the film at some capacity.
While the trailer doesn’t unveil too much in terms of storyline, there are plenty of speculations surfacing online as to where the film may be set in the timeline of the video games. One of the more popular rumors that have started to grow a strong following is that the film will be set between the events of Resident Evil 6 and the upcoming Resident Evil 7, in order to bridge the gap between the video games.
Regardless, we’ll have to wait until more information is unveiled for the upcoming film that is set to launch at some point next year, 2017.
