The Australian Classification Board has apparently outed a game adaptation of Expendables 2. What's more, the listing heavily implies mulitplayer as it states, "gaming experience may change online" — a tagline normally used by games with online multiplayer components.
If true, this won't come as that big of a shock, since a game adaptation was spotted in a document by NowGamer wherein it references a few action game mechanics. It's widely-rumored that Ubisoft was in talks to snatch up the game rights to the film, and I'm guessing they might have been successful. Of course, we don't know any actual details other than the listing so take everything with a grain of salt…for now, at least.
Expendables 2, for those not familiar, is an action movie with an ensemble cast. It brings the action heroes of the 80's and 90's into one big smorgasbord of violence and kick-assery.. It might just be me, but isn't that the premise of almost all the FPS' nowadays?
One rather worrying note is that the Australian Classification Board rates the game as MA 15+; which might mean the violence is toned down a bit compared to the movie its based on.
We'll keep you posted for future developments regarding this.
Expendables 2 will be out in cinemas in August 17.
Are you excited to play as Stallone, Bruce Willis, Jason Statham or even Chuck Norris? I know I am. Hopefully, Chuck Norris will have his laser death ray in the game…just like in real life.
