Battlefield 1 is the next addition in the Battlefield franchise. The team over at DICE decided to go backwards in time for this entry, taking us to the trenches of World War I. Players have gotten a taste of the action that’s set to come, by participating in the open beta that’s been going on since August 31st.
Today, that experience might be more bumpy than usual, according to the official Battlefield Twitter account.
Starting today, we are simulating extreme launch situations to test BF1 servers. You may experience downtime throughout the stress test.

In terms of general feedback, there appears to be active changes made in the middle of this beta process. The most recent of these examples is the shift to a score limit for Conquest mode, instead of a time-based limit. During this time, gamers have been getting a taste of the dynamic weather system and how it can quickly change the outcome of battle. Battles aren’t fought only on foot – but also by plane, on horseback, and in tanks. A boot camp series of videos have been published, if newcomers are interested in getting a hands-on tutorial from popular YouTubers. The beta itself is set to end on Thursday September 8th.
Battlefield 1 comes out on October 21st for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. To learn more about the game’s release, check out their website, Twitter, and Facebook.
