There are yet games coming out of E3 that are neither family friendly crowdpleasers nor bullet-to-the-face manshooters.
Cue Lucius, the freshman game of Finnish developer Shiver Games. Apparently they like The Omen and other movies revolving around creepy children a lot, because that’s what Lucius is about. The eponymous kid is the offspring of a rich family, born on 6/6/1966, and he’s something of a little devil.
Judging by Shiver Games’ homepage, Lucius will be about mischief and mayhem, as the player will be controlling lil’Lucius, causing death and destruction in subtle, poltergeistian ways, with the goal of killing everyone around him without arousing suspicion that the innocent little kid has anything to do with sudden quadruple suicides.
It seems the game isn’t too serious, which I guess is good thing. Apparently it’s one of those Scandinavian black comedies that skate the line of earnestness and funny. Well, another game about killing people, but at least, this time it’s a somewhat fresh approach.
Lucius is set for release on the PC in October 2012.
