The update that will introduce Amiibo support for the smash hit Nintendo 3DS game, Animal Crossing: New Leaf will drop December 2nd. Nintendo announced this update during today’s 3DS-focused Nintendo Direct.
The update will be free, but Nintendo will also offer a “Welcome Amiibo” physical version with the update already installed. This could possibly be to accommodate those without an Internet connection.
Amiibo support for New Leaf was announced in July. This update will allow you to tap compatible Amiibo figures and cards on your 3DS, which will bring the specific villager to your town.
