Part of Assassin’s Creed 3 Takes Place at Sea, Contains Naval Warfare

June 4, 2012 by Ian Miles Cheong

Players can engage in naval warfare in the upcoming Assassin’s Creed III, which sees Connor captaining a ship.

Ubisoft showed up at Sony's press conference late in the day today to show off some previously unreleased footage of Assassin's Creed III.

Unlike all the previous trailers and gameplay previews which took place on land, the Sony preview contained a portion of the game which takes place at sea. Connor pilots a ship and takes charge of its navigation as well as where its cannons fire, taking down a variety of smaller vessels until he and his crew finally board a large man-o-war.

Although the footage was shown off at Sony's press event, Assassin's Creed III will see release on both the PC and Xbox 360 as well. However, players who pick up the PS Vita-exclusive Assassin's Creed III: Liberation will receive some special DLCs for the main game.

Assassin's Creed III will be out in stores on October 30, 2012.
