Apogee Software has partnered with Mad Unicorn Games and Zettabyte Marketing to announce their next title: Radical Heroes: Crimson City Crisis. This game is a crazy, chaotic, brawler-style game that pays homage to several IPs from the 1980s and 1990s.
In addition to this new partnership, Mad Unicorn Games and Apogee Software are announcing a Kickstarter for Radical Heroes starting today. Keep an eye on that for a link to the Steam demo on Tuesday.
Radical Heroes: Crimson City Crisis gives a fresh take on the “Retro” genre of video games, with 2.5D brawler and fighting action, an engaging story, and chaotic gameplay that will keep any player enraptured. This game was inspired by classic titles such as River City Ransom, TMNT: The Arcade Game, Streets of Rage, and X-Men. Radical Heroes pushes the player along to fight for their life, through maze-like city levels.
Radical Heroes assumes the levels are playsets and your characters and everyone you come across are action figures. Each of the six levels is a different playset and you can find over 40 total playable characters throughout the game. Every level ends with a major boss fight, and every boss or enemy is unlockable!
You play as Diesel, a bald, hulking every man looking for a reason for this influx of crime in the city. He fights through the first Playset to take down the end boss, Maniac. As the story progresses, Diesel makes his way to the heart of the city, where he finds out there’s more to the story than just crime.
