The new Smite update, Patch 3.16 introduces a new character. She is a Hunter named Izanami, whose basic attacks function like boomerangs: she throws her sickles out in a straight line, passing through enemies, and then they return to her, dealing a second round of damage.
From a balance point of view, this does bring about some unique challenges. Due to the power of her sickles, damage scaling on Izanami’s basics is much lower, on-hit effects on activate on the first target, and lifesteal is lowered to 33% on everything hit.
Her passive provides her with penetration as she loses health, gaining 4% for every 15% of her health that’s depleted. Her Sickle Storm Ability removes the boomerang effect from her basic attacks but increases the damage they do. Spectral Projection does damage and slows enemies in a line.
If an enemy God is killed with the slow on them, the ability gains a permanent increase to slow effect (which maxes out at two stacks). Fade Away allows her to perform an underground leap that causes her to go stealth (she is the first Hunter to be able to do this). This lasts for a few seconds or until she takes damage or uses an ability.
Dark Portal, her ultimate, does damage and silences enemies in a targeted area after a short delay.
