It was rather recent when the slim version of Sony’s PlayStation 4 was discovered online. Apparently, Twitter user Shortman82 managed to get his hands on the console and since then, new details have begun to spread. Sony will likely be showing off the finer details of the PlayStation 4 Slim relatively soon, with speculation of its official announcement set sometime next month.
The latest news that has started to spread online, thanks to Shortman82, is new details surrounding the latest iteration of Sony’s DualShock 4 controller. There are some minor adjustments that can be seen right away, most notably the light bar.
Apparently, Sony has moved the light bar to the front of the controller, just above the touchpad. According to Shortman82, the light is by all means not blinding, but it does allow gamers to notice a light notification a bit easier than before.
Likewise, it’s been confirmed that the controller uses the same battery, but it seems to be lasting a bit longer than the original DualShock 4, we’re sure tests will be performed as the slim version of the console releases, just to see how well the two compare.
Lastly, the latest interesting aspect that has come out for the latest DualShock 4 controller is the ability to have the console only connect to the DualShock 4 controller when it’s plugged in via USB.
