In a rather interesting move, upstart developer Krillbite is making a first-person horror game called Among the Sleep that puts you in the vantage point of a two-year old. Yep, don't expect any machismo shootouts to happen here.
The game's premise revolves around the two-year old child, when he's put to bed one evening, mysterious things start to happen. The game's website also states, "Being played in first person, the game let its players immerse themselves in a child's limitless imagination. This is a perspective we all have a distant familiarity with, but few can clearly remember what it felt like"
It also adds that in the "borderland" between dream and reality, surreal creatures and diverse environments will present you with both physical and mental obstacles that will challenge your creativity.
If you're somehow having a hard time grasping all this, I suggest watching the game's debut trailer below.
While it doesn't really show much, the audio seems fantastic from what we're treated to and they seem to have nailed the game's atmosphere quite nicely. Let's just hope that this doesn't fall under "gimmick" status and gets old quick.
Among the Sleep is scheduled for a release next year on the PC and Mac.
