It's not unusual for retailers to jump the gun or place placeholder release dates in the hope that people will pre-order (something that a dreaded TBA symbol may stop them doing), but it's very rarely that they go to the trouble of having mock-up images made for something they're not fairly certain about. That's what makes this "reveal" on Zavvi so delicious – it could almost be true.
The retail giant, the same company that had previously revealed a couple of HD collections by accident, may have put a foot wrong again by putting up a page for Assassin's Creed III on the Vita. And while there have been rumours that the game could make it onto Sony's handheld-that-could, it is yet to be officially confirmed.
In short: this could mean one less surprise for the Ubisoft conference next week.
