Monster Boy Gets Gamescom Trailer

The people over at FDG Games and Game Atelier want to give you a throwback to the feelings invoked by video game classics. In Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom, it’s up to you to restore balance to the world. The game’s developers uploaded a trailer to show you exactly what kind of tools you have at your disposal to do that.

Our protagonist the Monster Boy will have the ability to transform into 5 creature forms (Frog, Snake, Lion, Pig, and Dragon) and take advantage of their unique skills in order to progress. You’ll need all the help you can get when you face off against the game’s massive bosses, like a giant Octopus that seems to be wrecking havoc in the trailer’s seaside level. The hidden passages and powerful equipment you can find will make for one heck of an interesting trip, though. You’re in for a game that will take you back to the glory days of platforming adventure video games in the 1980s and 90s, as this game has the creator of the Wonder Boy in Monster World game as some of the talent behind it.

Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom is set to release for PC, PS4, and Xbox One at some eventual point. They had once settled for a Q1 2016 release date, but that has since been pushed back. To follow along with the development of the game, check out their website, Twitter, and Facebook.
