Vigil Games, the developer behind the Darksiders franchise has received the final dev kits for the Wii U. In saying that, should gamers expect better graphics from the Wii U version of Darksiders II in comparison to its PS3, Xbox 360 siblings? Y'know, since the Wii U is considered a next-gen console and all that.
Well, if you're a prospective buyer of the Wii U, chances are you're not going to like what you hear as Associate Producer Jay Fitzloff thinks the graphics are "at least as good" when compared to the the older PS3 and Xbox 360.
The visuals will be the same," associate producer Jay Fitzloff told Eurogamer. "It's still a work in progress. But I know, at least as good is the way to say it.
Yikes! While there's a very good chance that developers are just coming to grips with the Wii U's Software Development Kits (SDKs), it's still not a good sign that one of your premier games don't look much better compared to the older console ports.
Aside from Fitzloff, another developer (who wished to remain anonymous) has stated that ports will "at best look as good as PS3 and Xbox 360 games." However, he does think that games built for the Wii U from the ground up will truly showcase what the upcoming Nintendo console can do graphically.
What say you, Nintendo fans? Is this news good enough for now or should Nintendo have invested heavily into the console's graphical horsepower? Whatever the answer is, we'll know for ourselves once Nintendo unveils their line-up of Wii U games at E3.
