New Features Reveals For Mini NES

August 8, 2016 by Dennis Patrick

New features revealed for upcoming Classic NES.

Nintendo has been doing well lately with the recent release of Pokemon Go. However, for gamers who were around a few generations ago, there’s quite a bit of interest towards Nintendo’s upcoming mini console known as the NES Classic.

This is a miniature style Nintendo Entertainment System that will come preloaded with thirty classic video games. However, unlike the original NES, the output will be HDMI allowing gamers to enjoy some of the past favorite hits on their modern television sets.

In the past, it was revealed that the upcoming miniature NES will not have any way to connect online and as such, there would be no additional video games added. So the thirty video game titles, which we’ll list below, are the only video games that will be playable on the console.

Now a new interview with a Nintendo communication manager and a La Terrasse Energie (translated by Nintendo Everything) has unveiled some new features that were previously unknown.

For starters, there are a few display options gamers can use, one that will show off a pixel perfect display, an option that will showcase a classic CRT display, along with a 4:3 aspect ratio mode.

Furthermore, there is an instant save option for each video game title. Unlike the original NES video game titles, gamers can save their video game at any point and instantly load back to that spot when the pick the game back up. While common in today’s video games and emulators, retro gamers lacked this ability and often had to restart from the very beginning, which certainly add a greater challenge.
