Tomonobu Itagaki's first Western game might be in trouble, as THQ has revealed during their financials call earlier in the day that they're seeking to sell of Devil's Third.
Devil's Third was supposed to be Itagaki's first game out of Valhalla Game Studios; and the first project due out from the outspoken developer since his resignation from Tecmo in 2008.
This news was revealed by none other than THQ president and CEO Brian Farrell; who told investors, "The profability profile for Devil's Third no longer met our internal threshold and we are currently in discussions with third parties regarding the future of this title."
Devil's Third is. of course, Itagaki's first foray into Western game development after his "colorful" departure from Tecmo where he served as Team Ninja's (Dead or Alive, Ninja Gaiden) studio boss.
Who do you think should snatch the game up? My money's on EA or Ubisoft — at least, I'm hoping someone will.
Devil's Third was originally scheduled to be out in 2013 for the Xbox 360 and PS3.
