Fallout 4 PlayStation 4 Mod Support Delayed

August 1, 2016 by Dennis Patrick

No signs of mod support yet.

When Fallout 4 was first introduced to the world, it came with a pretty interesting announcement. PC gamers had the luxury of enjoying fan created mods for a variety of video games and Fallout 4 was one highly anticipated title confirmed from the start that the developers would allow mod support.

However, it was also revealed that consoles would also have access to fan-created mods along with PC gamers. Unfortunately, when it comes to the PlayStation 4, the mod support is still delayed.

PlayStation 4 gamers have still been awaiting the access to mod support for Fallout 4 and it seems that the developers Bethesda and Sony are still working some issues out. This comes from a tweet sent out from the official Bethesda Game Studios Fallout Twitter account.

We’re working w/ Sony on Fallout 4 Mod support for PS4. The process is still under evaluation. As soon as we learn more, we will share news.

Interestingly enough, it’s not stated just why there’s such a big holdup on the PlayStation 4 side of things. While not stating it outright, it seems that Bethesda’s vice president of marketing, Pete Hines, may suggest that the mod support for the PlayStation 4 is out of their hands, but instead, the developers are relying on Sony.

@731783bb5ec1481 i don’t disagree. we have explained that to “others” so we can get/share an update. so far it hasn’t worked.

Regardless, there’s not much we can do right now when it comes to enjoying fan created content for Fallout 4 on the PlayStation 4. We’re hoping things can get patched up and work sooner rather than later as the game released back in November of 2015 so some gamers could find the gameplay beginning to get a bit stale.
