In what may seem like a surprise move, Bethesda has announced today that its upcoming game Dishonored is set for release on October 9 this year, way ahead of its previously predicted 2013 release date.
The delayed release of Bioshock Infinite to February 2013 should give Dishonored more than enough room to make an impact in the marketplace without having to compete with Irrational's game, which happens to share some rather similar game mechanics to Dishonored.
The game's release date announcement was accompanied by images of the game's packaging and cover art, which features its protagonist in his awesome, but creepy looking mechanical mask wielding a dagger, as a mechanical tower looms in the background.
Dishonored will be released for the playStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC on October 9 in the US, and three days later in Europe on October 12.
