A whole host of new expansion packs comes in Lego Dimensions wave 7’s release on November 18th. The headline features are the Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them story pack and the Sonic The Hedgehog level pack. Two completely different fictional universes coming together in the same game might seem odd for some, but for this Lego game it works out. But if you wanted more insane crossover fun, content packs themed around E.T., Adventure Time, and Gremlins are also part of this upcoming wave.
To get into it with a bit more detail, the Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them addition is a center focus of the wave. Based on the upcoming movie, this story pack has six levels and new LEGO Gateway bricks allowing you to build the Magical Congress of the United States of America on the LEGO toy pad. Build the New Scamander minifigure, then use his arsenal of spells to find the escaped magical creatures running around New York City. A second Tina Goldstein minifigure fun pack is available too.
The other attention grabber of the Lego Dimensions wave is Sonic the Hedgehog. The blue blur fuzzball gets his own level that takes you through places like Green Hill, Emerald Coast, and Labyrinth. Build the Sonic the Hedgehog minifigure, and you can use his Acrobat ability to swing off poles and grind rails, traveling around the world at the speed of sound.
The E.T. fun pack has an E.T. minifigure equipped with illumination and fix-it abilities. You can build E.T.’s Phone Home device, and then rebuild it into a Mobile Uplink and Super-Charged Satellite for even more in-game abilities. Continuing on the theme of old movies, there will be a Gremlins team pack with Gizmo and Stripe minifigures. Gizmo has a combat roll and dash attack he can use, while Stripe’s main method of attack is his razor sharp claws. Lastly, there’s the Adventure Time fun pack, that comes with a Marceline the Vampire Queen minifigure. Activate her Sonar Smash and Bolt Deflector abilities with her Axe guitar, and you’ll battle enemies and solve puzzles fairly easily.
Lego Dimensions released back on September 27th of last year, and the game receives a regular cycle of updates and content packs to keep things fresh. The game is available on PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and Wii U. To stay in the know about the latest news for the game, check out their website, Twitter, and Facebook.
