There is apparently too much hype going around for the upcoming Pokemon Go launch in Japan thus it caused a delay. This behemoth of a video game that has the creative minds of Niantic, Nintendo, and The Pokemon Company, has become a worldwide sensation and for some gamers who are eagerly awaiting its release in their region, any delays are becoming a massive sting.
We reported just yesterday of Pokemon Go heading to Japan for a launch release date set for today, Wednesday, July 20, 2016. However, that has quickly changed after an email disclosed leak was spread online showing off Pokemon Go and McDonald’s sponsorship deal. This isn’t groundbreaking news as it’s been revealed already, but because of this leak, the hype for Pokemon Go grew to outstanding levels.
According to a source who disclosed information to Tech Crunch, the development team has opted to hold off on their scheduled launch of Pokemon Go in Japan today. Their fear behind a sudden launch is that their carefully prepared servers are simply still not any match against the amount of potential players within the region.
Unfortunately, while the source claims that the delay will not push the game back in schedule too much, there’s no indication on when Japanese gamers will be able to hunt for their very own virtual Pokemon. Likewise, we’ll also have to wait in order to see just how well Pokemon Go’s first sponsored business, McDonald’s, will do.
