EA: Rock Band for iOS Will Remain Live

May 2, 2012 by Ian Miles Cheong

EA has no plans to cease Rock Band’s service on the iOS.

Rock Band iOS

Earlier today, owners of Rock Band on the iOS reported that they were receiving a pop-up message that suggested the game would be going offline on May 31.

The message read: "Dear Rockers, On May 31, ROCK BAND will no longer be playable on your device. Thanks for rocking out with us!"

The company had also set up a support article on its official knowledgebase which stated that the company would be suspending support after the aforementioned date to focus on other games. Both the article in question and the iOS alert have since been removed.

Electronic Arts issued a statement saying that the message was released in error:

"Rock Band for iOS will remain live – the in-app message users received yesterday was sent in error.

"We apologize for the confusion this caused. We're working to clarify the issue that caused the error and will share additional information as soon as possible."

Rock on.
