Starhawk was pretty damn addictive when it was in beta, the developers have done a good job of taking everything really good about Warhawk, building on it while at the same time adding something innovative in the building system. It's a nice combination of what we're used to and something new but simple to grasp and I have my fingers crossed that it's going to be a big hit.
And we won't be waiting too long to find out: the game has gone gold and will be available to purchase on May 8th in the States (and the variations on that worldwide). On top of that, participants in the beta will have access to a few special items that, while completely useless, are pretty cool.
The Hand of the Founders is a glowing "atom" that floats around your hand, showing that you had a "hand in [the game's] creation." You'll also get the Warhawk Paint Set, two exclusive vehicle colours for players of the beta who had also owned Warhawk. Again, neither of these items will actually add anything to your game, but are a nice way of showing you've been around from the very beginning.
