Activision has just confirmed the existence of Call of Duty: Black Ops II with the launch of the game's official website. The launch of the site is ahead of a full and proper reveal later today, which is expected to contain some actual details about the upcoming title. The publisher also plans to reveal a trailer at the NBA playoffs tonight.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 is the semi-sequel to the first Black Ops title developed by Treyarch. While the original Black Ops was set during the 60s and 70s—during the height of the Cold War—the next game is widely speculated to be set in the near future, which will put it head to head with the likes of EA's Medal of Honor: Warfighter.
According to the publisher, Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 is set for release on November 13. While no platforms have been announced, the game is expected to see release on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and the PC.
It should be noted that in addition to GameStop, Target, and a few other retailers, Steam is listed as a retailer for the PC version of the game. The sales page isn't online yet.
