Microsoft made some big reveals during their E3 2016 press conference briefing. The company not only showed off a nice selection of video game titles, but also teased new updated consoles along with their Play Anywhere feature. Now as we’re gearing towards the next big expo for the video game industry, Gamescom, it has been revealed that Microsoft will be opting out of a press conference in favor of a fan event.
News broke of Microsoft’s decision to hold a fan event was through their official Xbox Wire website. This new event will allow gamers the chance to play through some of Microsoft’s biggest upcoming releases for the Xbox One instead of a rehash of what was revealed earlier this year at E3.
According to the Xbox Wire posting, gamers can expect to see Gears of War 4, Forza Horizon 3, Halo Wars 2, ReCore, and Sea of Thieves. Lastly, there will be a number of indie titles that will be available for gamers to enjoy firsthand such as We Happy Few, Everspace, and Cuphead.
This will be a big changeup from last year with Microsoft and it’s interesting to see what Sony does this year as last year the company completely skipped Gamescom in favor for their PlayStation Paris Games Week event. For now, Sony has yet to reveal any of their plans for the event yet, though with Gamescom starting up on August 16, 2016, we’ll likely hear something soon.
