Skyrim may have ancient ruins filled with giant clockwork robots but mechanized crossbows appear to be one of the few things the game seems to lack.
This may be changing with the potential announcement of an upcoming DLC next week, which has been rumored after a Bethesda forum user discovered some interesting files (via RipTen) in the latest Skyrim patch (1.5.26) on the PC.
In addition to the crossbows, it looks like the new DLC will approach the topic of the Snow Elves, a once proud race that were driven from Skyrim by the Nords and eventually turned into the slaves of the Dwemer, becoming the Falmer who now inhabit its ruins.
You might've noticed them on your adventures throughout Skyrim and its assortment of Dwemer ruins. Besides literary sources, there's little explanation as to their presence there and it seems like there's a story that still needs to be told.
It looks like that story may yet have a chance to be told, assuming Bethesda pulls through with the DLC.
