Over the past couple of weeks, Gametrailer's Geoff Keighley has been promoting a certain episode of Gametrailers TV. That episode aired just a few minutes ago, featuring a game that Keighley himself has been touting over social networks like Twitter and others.
This game is "Playstation All-Stars." In essence, this game is Sony's version of "Smash Bros." It will feature characters from both Sony's first party studios and various other third parties. Haven't you always wanted to pit your favorite Sony characters together? Now we can finally see who would come out on top: Jak or Ratchet. It is a fight the gaming industry has been wanting to see for ages.
What's interesting is that the game is being developed by an independent studio, Superbot Entertainment. It seems a bit strange that Sony would hand off a title of such magnitude to anyone other than their first-party studios. This is a game that will be portraying over two decades of Sony characters, and to take a risk like this is unlike Sony.
In any case, we will see how the game turns out very soon. Since the game is slated for a holiday 2012 release, it is likely that there will be gameplay ready in time for E3.
