Bethesda Made a Real Doom BFG

July 8, 2016 by Nick Monroe

It’s not a small thing to make a replica of.

DoomBFGIRL

3D-Printing Company MyMiniFactory teamed up with Bethesda to make a to-scale replica of the BFG weapon from Doom, and used it in a giveaway to a fan. They made a video documenting the whole tedious process, which you can check out for yourself down below.

In one of the biggest and most ambitious 3D printing challenges we have ever seen, MyMiniFactory set about building a 1:1 scale 3D printed BFG for one lucky contest winner. Taking over 1,000 hours of 3D printing and using over 12 KG of plastic filament, this beast of a model took over 1 month to make. The BFG is so heavy to hold it takes at least 3 people to carry it!

If you’re really into the game, you can check out this download for a miniature BFG here, or you can go all-in for the life-size replica if you’ve got a workshop of your own to handle it all.
