While Funcom's MMO The Secret World isn’t due for release until June, you can already get in on some of the action, with the war between the Illuminati, the Templars and the Dragons already raging in The Secret War.
The browser based game allows you to recruit friends using Facebook integration, spread propaganda and deploy agents in just about any country and specific American states for whatever faction you side with — which would hopefully be the Templars, because you’re a cool person, and you don’t have time for those other weirdo groups.
For example, if I were to shamelessly plug this 'propaganda' link that you should totally click on, doing so it would not only earn points for me per click, but help my faction take Canada. The more points you earn, the more items you unlock that can be redeemed in game when The Secret World goes live. Signing up also counts as a sign up for the MMO beta.
It’s hardly subtle marketing but that doesn’t make it any less addictive or clever, that’s for certain.
