One Piece: Pirate Warriors Heads to the PS3

April 19, 2012 by Ian Miles Cheong

A new game from the One Piece franchise is headed to the PS3.

One Piece

One Piece is kind of a big deal. You've probably heard of it. In any case, the franchise is getting yet another videogame treatment in the form of One Piece: Pirate Warriors and it's slated for release in the United States exclusive to the PlayStation 3.

The series follows the manic adventures of Monkey D. Luffy, a seafaring pirate who possesses the ability to stretch his limbs like Mister Fantastic. Pirate Warriors offers brawler-based gameplay and retains the strange qualities of the source material.

The game bears some resemblance to the Dynasty Warriors series in terms of its combat, pitting Monkey and other playable characters against wave upon waves of enemies in over-the-top combat.

One Piece: Pirate Warriors offers various modes of play, including story mode and a battle mode that puts you straight into the action. It's set for release later this year on the PlayStation 3.
