DiRT Showdown Gets a Release Date

April 19, 2012 by Ian Miles Cheong

DiRT Showdown is coming out next month, with a demo coming out on May 1st.

Codemasters has put out a new gameplay video for DiRT Showdown called "Ultimate Hoonigan" in addition to announcing the release date for the game. Dated for a May 25th release, players will also be able to play a demo of the game on May 1st.

The Ultimate Hoonigan video showcases the tricks and stunts players can perform in the Hoonigan game modes, featuring Ken Block's Ford Fiesta in a head-to-head match with a Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X JUN.

The demo of the game, which is set for a May 1st release, will be available on the Xbox Live, PSN, and Steam on PC. Players can participate online with a new online racing hub called RaceNet, which allows players to track their races, rivals, and rewards as they play.

Finally, Codemasters has announced that players who pre-order DiRT Showdown from the retailers Gamestation and Game will receive a special Hoonigan Edition, which comes with unique packaging, an in-game cash boost, and special liveries for various vehicles that can be redeemed via an online code.
