Nintendo Acquires Patent Filed for Over Nine Years Ago

April 18, 2012 by Jacob Saylor

More Nintendo power!

If Nintendo did not have enough intellectual property power to begin with, this latest addition to their growing arsenal will surely give them an edge over competitors in the years to come.

The company filed for a patent over nine years ago, which brings forth a technology that seamlessly integrates displays into consoles. While many claim this is still a dream in regards to the industry’s current technological state, we may not be so far away. Do not forget so quickly what industry we are talking about!

If you look at the upgrade in graphics going from the sixth generation of consoles (Playstation 2, Xbox, Nintendo Gamecube) to the seventh (Playstation 3, Xbox360, Nintendo Wii) then you see just how far the industry can go in a relatively short amount of time. With the next console generation sure to be on our doorstep very soon, it is all the more probable this technology happens sooner rather than later.
