Grim Dawn Arrives on Kickstarter

April 17, 2012 by Jacob Saylor

Will you buy into it?

Grim Dawn, a new Kickstarter project being headed by the minds behind Titan Quest, has already received over $60,000 in funding. The team is currently asking for a mere $280,000, which means they are well on their way to achieving the target amount.

This Kickstarter project has broken away from the trend of asking for a $15 donation in return for the game, instead requesting $18. While this is not a huge change in marketing, it does show that gamers are willing to spend another few dollars in terms of the overall population of video game-related Kickstarters.

The game will be developed by Crate Entertainment and features an open world. Also in the mix are customizable progression/character-building and the ability to mod. The game will be DRM-free.

The fact this Kickstarter project has found such traction with the community asks a lot of questions regarding what the final amount in funding will be. What will the dollar amount be in a month from now, when the game is officially funded? Only time will tell.
