Star Wars: The Old Republic Spawns Yet Another Free-to-Play Weekend

April 4, 2012 by Jacob Saylor

Bioware opens The Old Republic’s gates for a fourth free weekend.

Bioware's jump into the MMO market last year has proved fruitful for the company, and the game has stood its ground against the formidable opponent in World of Warcraft.

Ever since release, the developer has given players a chance to delve into The Old Republic without paying any sort of fee. They plan to introduce a fourth free-to-play trial this upcoming weekend. You'll be allowed to download the client today, April 4, 2012, and play through April 9th.

The trial will allow you to reach level 15, participate in the game's starting zone quests, and partake in Warzone PvP.

For anyone unsure as to whether or not Bioware's new MMO is worth the $60 price tag plus subscription costs: this is a dream come true. I fell into their post-release hype trap and ended up wasting $90 of my hard-earned cash, but you don't have to suffer the same fate. Decide for yourself if the game is worth your time, and start downloading the client now. The game is extremely big, so don't hesitate – you probably won't be playing the game until tomorrow morning (April 5th) if your internet connection is as slow as mine.
