Yoshinoro Ono Bows Out of Work on Street Fighter

March 30, 2012 by Jacob Saylor

One of the key minds behind the Street Fighter series has bowed out of development due to fatigue.

It was reported on earlier this week that Yoshinoro Ono, one of the key minds behind the popular Street Fighter series, was rushed to the hospital following Capcom’s advertising tour for Street Fighter X Tekken.  It appears that the iconic developer has decided to step back from his duties at Capcom in concern for his health.

"I'll refrain from work for current job for a while. Another person in charge of SF series for a while. Of course I'll constant support to it," tweeted the developer, which broke the news for all of us here on the internet.

However, Ono was quick to deny any rumors claiming that he would no longer be involved in the development of Capcom’s titles. He tweeted again saying that he would be coming back after his time away and focusing on “the new future of fighting games.”

How do you think Ono’s temporary departure from video game development will affect Capcom? Let us know in the comments below!
