Kellee Santiago Goes on a new Journey After Leaving Thatgamecompany

March 29, 2012 by Ian Miles Cheong

Thatgamecompany’s Kellee Santiago has left the company to work on something new.

Journey

Journey was released a couple of weeks ago to rave reviews with most reviewers giving the game a perfect score. The game, which took three years to develop, was the brainchild of Jenova Chen and Kellee Santiago, who developed both flOw and Flower with Sony as their publisher.

With the development of a new game in the works at Thatgamecompany, Santiago has decided to head elsewhere. She called her departure amicable.

“After doing these three games, I think it was a really great opportunity for all of us to look at what we’ve learned and what I’ve taken from that experience, and go forth and take it into new arenas,” she said in an interview with Leigh Alexander at Gamasutra.

"So much of my work at Thatgamecompany was really supporting Jenova's visions for the types of games he wanted to make, and I felt like I have done everything I needed to do there, and that he's in a great place now to go on and continue with some of the other people at Thatgamecompany, to take that to a whole new height."

We'll look forward to seeing what she comes up with in the future.
