Jon Snow is going to be the next Call of Duty villain, following Kevin Spacey’s Advanced Warfare performance.

The story behind Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare just got infinitely more intriguing as Kit Harington of Game of Thrones fame was announced to be the lead villain character in this year’s entry to the Call of Duty franchise. The game’s Facebook page published a recent video taking us behind the scenes in one of the motion capture sessions.

“Kit is an amazing talent, and the consummate pro,” said narrative director Taylor Kurosaki of Infinity Ward.  “Our story is about an epic showdown of opposing forces, and Kit immersed himself into the role and truly became the embodiment of the enemy, the Settlement Defense Front.  We can’t wait for fans to see Kit play an entirely different kind of character.”

KitHaringtonImageAccording to Infinity Ward studio head Dave Stohl, it meant a lot to them “to develop the role into everything it could be. We’re excited about the performance Kit delivered and can’t wait to get it out to the public. We’re committed to delivering a compelling story with rich character depth, and this was a special opportunity to add to our fantastic cast.”

Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare is set to release for Xbox One, PS4, and PC on November 4th of this year. The best places to get the latest hype fuel for the Infinite Warfare hype train are the Call of Duty website, Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube. The initial trailer may have become one of the most disliked YouTube videos of all time, but to Activision and Infinity Ward it’s a sign that people are passionate about the game one way or the other.
