LEGO Dimensions Expansion Adds 16 New Universes

June 9, 2016 by Nicole Carpenter

A ton of new LEGO Dimensions content will introduce Adventure Time, Ghostbusters, and E.T. to the game.

LEGO Dimensions—the LEGO toy and video game hybrid—announced new expansion packs that add new characters, stories, and gameplay to the LEGO Dimensions starter pack.

Warner Bros. and TT Games will introduce 16 new universes to the starter pack. Beginning on September 27, LEGO Dimensions will get the Ghostbusters story pack, Adventure Time and Mission: Impossible level packs, Harry Potter and Adventure Time team packs, and The A-Team fun pack.

Later, LEGO Dimensions will get additional expansion packs based on Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, the LEGO Batman Movie, The Goonies, Sonic the Hedgehog, Teen Titans Go!, LEGO City Undercover, Knight Rider, The Powerpuff Girls, Gremlins, Beetlejuice, and E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial. TT Games expects to launch these in product waves stretching throughout summer 2017.

No new starter pack is required for the new expansion packs. Each pack will just enhance the LEGO Dimensions Starter Pack and work with the existing LEGO Toy Pad.

LEGO Dimensions‘ new battle arenas will allow competitive split-screen local gameplay for up to four players. It’s a first for LEGO video games. There are a bunch of different battle arenas based on each LEGO universe; players can unlock them with a code that comes with the LEGO minifigures included in the expansion packs.

Each battle arena will come with four different gameplay modes, with its own traps, special powers, and interactive environments.
