Square Enix will release its Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue worldwide in December. A new gameplay trailer—which features Aqua, an original Keyblade wielder—was revealed today.
Aqua’s battle against the Heartless will be featured in the Kingdom Hearts 0.2 Birth by Sleep – A fragmentary passage, which is included in the HD prologue. The “brand new storyline” will give players a peek into the events of Kingdom Hearts 3.
Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue will also include Kingdom Hearts χ [chi] Back Cover—”a new tale that sheds light on the mysterious foretellers”—and new HD gameplay from Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance.
Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue will be playable on PlayStation 4. Those attending E3 will be able to play the game at the Square Enix booth.
According to Kingdom Hearts 3 director Tetsuya Nomura, Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue uses technology from Kingdom Hearts 3.
Square Enix also announced that more information regarding Kingdom Hearts 3 will be announced this winter.
