Infinity Ward's creative strategist Robert Bowling, better known by his handle FourZeroTwo, has resigned his position at the studio and will no longer be working for parent company Activision in any capacity.
"Today, I resign from my position as Creative Strategist of Call of Duty, as a lead of Infinity Ward, and as an employee of Activision," he tweeted earlier today.
For many, Bowling was the public face of the megahit Call of Duty franchise, eager to interact with fans through his Twitter account, which currently sports a whopping 367 thousand followers.
Bowling joined Infinity Ward in April of 2006 and has served as creative strategist for the Call of Duty franchise ever since. He famously stayed on during the 2010 controversy that saw half of the studio's staff resign following the firing of heads Vince Zampella and Jason West.
Currently, Bowling is keeping quiet about his future plans.
Activision has since confirmed the departure in a brief but sincere statement: "We sincerely thank Robert for his many years of service. He's been a trusted and valued member of the Infinity Ward team. We wish him all the best on his decision to pursue future opportunities."
