Here we go again, more rumors surrounding the XBOX 360. Better yet, this time they're coming from a guy who is called MS Nerd. On Reddit he claims that we will be seeing an “XBOX Lite” launching in 2013 with the actual next gen console coming at a later date. Supposedly this 'Lite' version will ARM-based and priced around the $100 range.
“At some point after [the XBOX Lite], we'll see a[n] XBOX Next, a true successor to the 360.” Claims MS Nerd.
Personally I think that the XBOX Lite is plausible, but it may not be releasing next year. Microsoft has already stated this about new XBOX Hardware:
“While we appreciate all the interest in our long-range plans for the future, we can confirm that there will be no talk of new Xbox hardware at E3 or anytime soon.”
So we can almost definitely say that any new hardware is probably going to be mentioned next year, most likely at E3 2013. That is if we all survive the impending apocalypse.
