Publisher 2K announced that XCOM 2 will come to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on September 6. XCOM 2 will be available internationally on September 9.
The game will be available in North America for $59.99. Developer Firaxis Games has partnered with The Workshop to bring the game to consoles, and “ensure that the XCOM 2 experience meets the same standards of the beloved series.”
Players who pre-order XCOM 2 for console will receive the Resistance Warrior Pack, which adds “additional soldier customization options” to the game. This includes bonus outfits, headgear, and custom facial war paint. Additionally, the Resistance Warrior Pack adds a new XCOM recruit—Survivor of the Old War—who’s available in the Avenger’s barracks.
Those who pre-order the XCOM 2 Digital Deluxe Edition will get the XCOM 2 Reinforcement Pack, which includes “all paid XCOM 2 DLC” and the Resistance Warrior Pack.
Set 20 years in the future, XCOM 2 places players in a world in which humans lost the war against aliens. XCOM—the secret paramilitary organization—is the only hope for reclaiming Earth.
XCOM 2’s second DLC pack, Alien Hunters, was released for PC in May. It’s available separately for $9.99, or as part of the Reinforcement Pack. Alien Hunters adds a narrative-driven mission, along with new weapons and armor.
