An Inside Look at Overwatch’s Generous Headshot Hitbox

June 7, 2016 by Nick Monroe

YouTube Channel Force Strategy made a discovery that hardcore Overwatch players can appreciate.

OverwatchHitboxHeadshotFeaturedHeaderYouTube channel Force Gaming discovered something that could give your Overwatch strategy an incredible edge against your opponents. In the video below, he details his research into how the hitbox for the head area of all the game’s characters is incredibly generous.

He started out on just doing training bots for his initial demonstration work, but he took the time to showcase how this generous headshot hitbox applied unanimously across the entire Overwatch cast. You don’t even need to have your target in sight to hit them was the most interesting thing of them all. At about 2 minutes, 15 seconds into the video, Force shoots a Widowmaker from an angle that doesn’t even the target in his visible sight. He went on to show that effect applying to Mei too.

Now that this information is getting out to the community at large, you can expect many more ridiculous headshots coming your way in Overwatch for the foreseeable future.
