Assassin’s Creed III Screens Offer a Blurry but Beautiful Look at the Game

March 23, 2012 by Josh Harmon

Chin up! Just because you’ve got compression artifacts doesn’t mean you’re not pretty.

Another batch of Assassin's Creed III screenshots have leaked, showing new protagnist Connor climbing his way through the wilds and cities of Colonial America.

Unlike yesterday's crystal clear shots, these look like scans from a magazine printed sometime in the '20s that have been JPEG compressed 800 or so times for good measure. The quality's so bad on a few of them that we're not even entirely sure they're screenshots and not concept art, but hey, with a game as hotly anticipated as Assassin's Creed III, we'll take every last scrap we can get.

If anyone knows where we can find a better version these screenshots, feel free to send us a tip, but in the meantime, you can squint and do your best to make out the rest of the screens below.

Assassin's Creed III is out for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC on October 30 in North America and October 31 in PAL territories.
