We’re finally learning when season three of Telltale’s The Walking Dead will be launching. After a new tweet was sent out by Job Stauffer who is the head of creative communications for Telltale Games, we can expect to see the third season of The Walking Dead at some point this fall.
Currently, in the works for Telltale Games is the upcoming Batman IP along with the third season of The Walking Dead, both of which was highlighted in Job Stauffer’s tweet.

The Walking Dead season three is said to be an entry point for new players, according to CEO Kevin Bruner who spoke with Mashable. It’s not clear just how the events that take place in The Walking Dead season two will affect the storyline if new fans are expected to join in the series.
“How do we go back and make sure all Walking Dead fans can get in while still keeping all of our storylines going? I think where we’re landing with the story for Season 3 does a really good job of both of those things.
It allows people who haven’t played to come in and get up to speed really quickly. But it definitely respects, honors and facilitates all of the various end points that Season 2 had.”
Additionally, Robert Kirkman, creator of The Walking Dead comic book, has spoken with IGN about the upcoming season. Kirkman revealed that the timeline for season three will have a time jump and will be closer to where the latest comic book issues are but did not directly state as to if we will see the two mediums connect.
