Good news everyone! You'll be able to dual-wield weapons in Assassin's Creed III! Want to carry a Tomahawk AND your knife and do a lot of stabby stabby? No problem, AC III has you covered dear readers.
“The combat system in Assassin's Creed III has been completely redone. We burned it to the ground and we're building it back up.” Stated creative director Alex Hutchinson in an interview with PlayStation Magazine. Hutchinson also mentions one of the combinations is your tomahawk and knife (mentioned previously) and also the fact that Connor, the protagonist, has a bow. A bow!? We go from wrist guns to bows? BOWS?! Where is my prototype hidden laser gun? Those guys were making something like that back then right? Right?!
In all seriousness though, apparently the guys over at Ubisoft put a bow in there because it was more historically accurate. The guns back in that age were “inaccurate” and so bows were used on horseback. I still want my hidden laser gun. Oh well, I'll pout on the internet until Ubisoft puts it in the game.
Just a reminder for you guys. Assassin's Creed III will be out for the XBOX 360, PS3, and PC in North America on October 30th and Europe the next day. The Wii-U version will be released some time later this year.
