GOG.com is a game distributor similar in scope to the Steam program by Valve. The major distinction between Steam and GOG however, is that GOG offers PC video games DRM-free. Up until now, there was a separation between these two platforms, but with the announcement of GOG Connect, it seems that the line is starting to blur.
Starting today, GOG Connect allows you to connect your Steam account and freely add games to your GOG library. The intention behind this idea was that GOG doesn’t want you buying games more than once, and they want to help deliver on that statement. You can’t add everything from your Steam library all at once, it’s limited to only participating game studios.
The GOG Connect system’s games will only be available for a short period of time, so you can’t wait around forever to do this. Participating developers and publishers will come and go, rotating in and out of this program over time.
