Full Release of Hero Defense – Haunted Island is Available Now

May 31, 2016 by Nick Monroe

Hero Defense – Haunted Island makes it’s full debut on Steam today.

HeroDefenseFeaturedHeaderHero Defense – Haunted Island came out in Early Access back in January 2016, but the game’s developer Happy Tuesday is proud to announce that they’ve fully launched the game on Steam today.

This isn’t like most games in the Tower Defense genre. You take five heroes across an arena style map to fight off lines of enemy forces. Their overall mission is to bring an end to the sinister Count Necrosis. Jack the Hunter, Barrows the Mage, Jane Doe the Assassin, Sam Hain the Pyromancer, and Wylde the Lycan all bring their own offensive strategy to the fight.

You have weapons that can be modified with runes to create powerful combination effects. The RPG element of the game is XP based with each hero having a skill tree (with the opportunity to gain more mighty spells), and acquire loot from the undead foes you slay to help rebuild your town and unlock further new buildings to assist you. The full story campaign with 14 single-player maps and four difficulty settings takes you on a mission to liberate the island, but there’s additional daily challenges to play too.

The multiplayer mode has two players with five heroes each face off one another to defend their own barricades from the armies of undead. Whoever curtails the invaders the fastest gets more of an advantage over the other side, allowing them to unleash more of a punishment on their opponent. There’s ranked Multiplayer season matches where one can win a weekly champion title if they’re the best of the best.

Hero Defense – Haunted Island is available on Steam and Humble store right now for $14.99.
