Cyberpunk 2077 Cryptic Message Has Fans Anticipating Something Big

December 1, 2025 by Dennis Patrick

News could be coming next week.

Cyberpunk 2077 is the RPG that seems to keep giving. CD Projekt Red continues to surprise us with new updates and content, long after we thought that game was sealed up and done for. However, we’re thankful for it because if you enjoy Night City, there’s always an itch for something new to dive into when roaming around the neon-filled streets. Fortunately, we might have something more to dig into soon enough.

A new cryptic social media post online has some fans scratching their heads. Just what is CD Projekt Red up to and what does it have to do with Cyberpunk 2077? That’s something we might get answers to next week. Of course, now all we have to do is monitor CD Projekt Red’s social media accounts in hopes of uncovering a little more of what’s to come before the potential grand unveiling.

A new post online from the Cyberpunk 2077 X account highlights a few dates in a graphic. There are a few birthdays marked down for some of the characters featured in Cyberpunk 2077’s Phantom Liberty DLC. But beyond that, there is a date marked down for Cyberpunk 2077, in general. The game’s fifth anniversary is approaching, and fans are speculating that a notable update might be coming our way.

That’s, again, purely speculative, but with Virtuous lending a hand with support for this RPG, it might be easier to bring more to the game without pushing CD Projekt Red’s internal teams to work on it. So, it has us and so many others wondering whether the fifth anniversary on December 10, 2025, will mark a special announcement with new content coming to the game.

It could be just that CD Projekt Red wants to highlight the milestone for their latest RPG, but we wouldn’t be surprised if there’s something more to it. At any rate, we’ll have to wait and see if we get something here for Night City fans next week. Meanwhile, CD Projekt Red is hard at work on a few other games.

While we know a Cyberpunk sequel is coming out, their next major RPG release is The Witcher 4. This will be the start of a brand-new trilogy for Witcher fans, and we even know it will wrap up within six years. So, fortunately, we won’t be waiting too long between these RPG releases for the next chapter.
