Right now, GTA 6 fans are in a bit of a rut. The game is allegedly coming out next year in November, which means they have less than a year to wait until its release. Well, hopefully. They also don’t know when the game’s next trailer will drop, or when Rockstar Games might make some kind of “meaningful announcement” for it. As such, the only thing that fans have to go off of for any kind of “clues” as to what will happen in the game are the original trailers and the official game art that has already been released. Naturally, many have already dived into it to see what they could find.
Enter this fan from the GTAForums, who decided to look at the GTA 6 trailers for all he could about the co-main character, Jason, and his previously confirmed military service. There had already been chatter about that, but by looking at the trailers and doing some research into what he found, he thinks he’s found some definitive answers that could paint a picture of what Jason will be like in the game going forward.
According to a tattoo that he has in one of the trailers, it seems like he’s a former elite member of the US Army Rangers. Just as important, the group he was “attached to” might have been one that had seen a lot of action based on where the real-life versions of that special unit were sent, including the Middle East and places like Burma. Why does that matter? Simply put, it would explain why he is so capable with guns, and possibly why he became a drug runner in the game. After all, veterans aren’t treated the best in the United States, and that can lead them to do “whatever it takes” to get back on their feet.
It honestly is a fascinating read, and even if it’s 100% off base for one reason or another, you should check it out. Again, we know from Rockstar Games themselves that Jason is a former military. The only question is what unit he was a part of, and how that will affect the game’s story and gameplay. If he were a Ranger, that would actually make him one of the best fighters in the series’ history. After all, he’s not just a “random guy who can shoot a gun,” he’s someone who KNOWS how to shoot a gun and hit his target, which could play out in various ways as both he and Lucia fight for their own justice and freedom.
