Rumor: Grand Theft Auto Online Will Have Three Available Mansions – With One You Already Know About

November 19, 2025 by Ryan Parreno

In some way this is another way to cap off Grand Theft Auto V’s story.

Tez2 has shared some new insight on Grand Theft Auto Online’s mansions update.

He shared this insight on Twitter:

Spanish and Korean translations of this article suggest we are receiving three new mansions in total.

…Not literally ‘new.’

We know of the two construction sites. The third one could be Devin Weston’s mansion becoming purchasable.

This Doesn’t Seem To Be That Big An Update After All

Players were thinking that Rockstar could be pulling out all the stops with mansions. Admittedly, Rockstar didn’t confirm any of the rumors until now.

But players were hoping that mansions would be a huge way to express themselves in game. If one of those mansions is already something that exists in the game, and you can get three at most, then it isn’t that grandiose an endgame after all.

We imagine that the costs to get all three mansions will be astronomical. Even the most loyal regular players may not be able to just get all of them in one go.

But this certainly scales down those fan hopes to more realistic expectations. Having said that, Tez shared an interesting detail.

Are We Getting Grand Theft Auto V Closure… Again?

We do know in the world of Grand Theft Auto Online that Weston is canonically dead. He is the last antagonist our deadly trio dispatched in the end of the game.

We have also seen Franklin reappear in a Grand Theft Auto Online event before. We were presented with a hopeful future for Franklin, someone who got over his struggles as a young adult and made it.

Acquiring Weston’s mansion seems to open up the door for us to reexplore the story of Grand Theft Auto V all over again. And that will somehow give us additional closure to the events of the game.

Why Weston And His Mansion Mattered

Weston is more than your cookie cutter Republic serial villain. Dan Houser and Rockstar created a particularly detestable caricature of the ultra-wealthy.

We’re sure Rockstar intended to make killing of Weston satisfactory, as a power fantasy of getting back against the real life elite. And now, this expansion gives players another chance to play out this power fantasy again.

Will We Catch Up To Michael, Franklin, and Trevor?

As best as we know, all three of Grand Theft Auto V’s protagonists are alive in the world of Grand Theft Auto Online. So Rockstar could create a scenario where we could catch up with them.

This would have had to be something Rockstar invested in far in advance. But it would also be a way they could keep fans happy after Grand Theft Auto 6 got delayed.

We don’t know if something like that is waiting for us, but it would be good for Grand Theft Auto Online players if it did.
