The Ghosts Exposed collectible event is coming back to Grand Theft Auto Online.

What Is Ghosts Exposed?
As is the case with many other Grand Theft Auto events, Ghosts Exposed is a parody of US pop culture.
In this case, it’s a parody of the paranormal reality TV series Ghost Hunters. In this series, a real life team of paranormal investigators visit haunted locations to find proof of paranormal activity.
Surprisingly, Ghost Hunters became popular for its sober documentary approach. While it was originally presented in a docu-soap format, the show evolved to focus exclusively on the haunted places themselves.
The Ghost Hunters did not try to convince its viewers they always found ghosts. They would give viewers credible non-paranormal explanations for certain phenomena, teaching them to be skeptical observers too.
Exposing Ghosts In Grand Theft Auto Online
In the world of Grand Theft Auto Online, the paranormal team goes by the name Ghosts Exposed Paranormal Investigators.
Just like the Ghost Hunters, the Ghosts Exposed team went to Blaine County and Los Santos in the hopes of finding ghosts.
Rockstar clearly took some liberties, because they had the Ghosts Exposed team show up in jumpsuits and driving a Cadillac Miller-Meteor reminiscent of the Columbia Pictures film franchise Ghostbusters.
The Ghosts Exposed Event
The event this year is pretty straightforward. You’ll get a message from the Ghosts Exposed team asking for help to look for ghosts.
If you can find and get good pictures of the ghosts, the Ghosts Exposed team will reward you with GTA $ and RP. You’re going to have to stay up, as these ghosts will only appear between 19:00 to 6:00 in in-game time.
You can also earn some nice in-game swag from the Ghosts Exposed team for helping them out. This includes their Ghosts Exposed jumpsuit, a new Livery for the Albany sedan, the Brigham, and a new Ghosts Exposed cap.
Unfortunately, if you were hoping for some genuine horror gaming chills à la Fatal Frame, that’s not what you’re getting here. The ghosts will be floating apparitions you can safely take photos of from afar.
But then again, in the world of Grand Theft Auto Online, the supernatural would only be a sideshow to the ultraviolent world filled with all manner of small-time and big-time criminals.
And in this world, the most dangerous and fearsome entity could ultimately be you, the player. What scary things have you been doing in Grand Theft Auto Online this whole time?
